Goals of Youth Ministry

  • To teach the youth how to pray
  • To provide a space where youth can wrestle with questions about the Faith
  • To encourage fellowship, where youth can find lifelong Catholic friends.
  • To promote the Sacred Tradition, Scripture, and Doctrines of the Catholic Faith.
  • To live a life dedicated in service of God, the parish, and the community.
  • To help students to discern their vocation in life. (Priesthood, Religious Life, Marriage, Single Life)

Why is Youth Ministry Important for my Child?

Youth Ministry provides a place for middle and high schoolers to delve deeper into their faith, take it as their own, and deepen their living relationship with the LORD. Jesus sent His disciples out two by two (Lk 10:1 RSVCE), and youth ministry provides a place for youth to find Catholic friends to support them on their journey to becoming a saint. Youth Ministry equips youth to be strong in their Faith and lead others to Christ Jesus. Youth are a vibrant, important part of our Church in the here and now, and it is our responsibility to help them on this journey.

Do you have a 6th-12th grader or high school student who needs sacraments? Is this the right place?

Yes! At Holy Spirit, we offer a two-year program for students seeking sacraments. They will receive most of their formation during our fun and engaging youth group. There are also 2 retreats per year required for youth receiving sacraments (see calendar for dates).

What do you have for my child if they already completed their sacraments of Baptism, First Communion & Confirmation?

Our youth group is meant to reach each child where they are in their faith. Using multiple resources including Ascension Press, Theology of the Both and Journey of Faith for Teens, our weekly youth group (Aug – May) provides your child a place for them to grow in their faith and commitment to the Catholic Church and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Additionally, all those enrolled in youth group is invited to join our monthly Relationship & Virtues training where they will learn practical application for how to live out their faith and discern their vocation (on the calendar starting in June).
