Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
by Deacon Gary Johnson | 05/31/2026 | Sunday Written ReflectionOf all the great feasts that we celebrate within the Church each year, today’s Solemnity presents us with a Mystery that is so deep that we contemplate this throughout our lives.
The Holy Trinity, the life of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, will never be fully understood from a human perspective. No human concept will ever explain who God is. However, our gift of faith from God focuses us to honor the Most Holy Trinity which gives us everlasting adoration and joy.
Let us remember that the Most Holy Trinity is three Persons in one God. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the three Persons. They want to be known as three Persons. They want to be known through a life and deep and intimate prayer.
Praying to one Person of the Holy Trinity is praying to all three persons of the Holy Trinity since they are One God. But we are called to have loving relationships with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. By doing so, God will draw us deeper into the knowledge of God if we are open to Him.
Reflect today upon the Most Holy Trinity. Say a prayer to God asking for a deeper and more intimate knowledge of Him. Ask Him to open your mind and heart to a deeper understanding of Who He is. Humble yourself before the great Mystery of the inner life of God as we know so little about Him. Humble prayer will lead you to move closer to the deeper relationship of love to which you are called.
