Christmas Message from Fr. Long

by Fr. Long Phi Nguyen, SVD  |  12/22/2025  |  Updates from the Pastor

Dear Parish family,

Last week, I received a Christmas card from my spiritual director featuring a simple yet beautiful image of the newborn Jesus with Mary and Joseph in the manger, crowned by a shining star and the Scripture verse: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). That single line has stayed with me, quietly stirring my heart with hope throughout these days of Advent.

As we come to the close of another year, we are reminded that no matter how dark the world may seem at times, the light of Christ continues to shine—and the darkness can never overcome it. This truth is the source of our deepest joy as we prepare to celebrate Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we will once again join the choir of angels in song as we proclaim the birth of our Savior. God Himself, the Word made flesh, humbly enters our history—not in grandeur, but in the simplicity of a manger—to bring us hope, healing, forgiveness, and new life.

This holy season also calls us to trust the Lord with deeper faith. Last Christmas, none of us could have imagined all that this year would hold, yet through every moment, God’s hand has never left us. Mary and Joseph entrusted everything to God—on the long and difficult journey to Bethlehem and in their fearful flight into Egypt. Through their example of faith and courage, we ask for the grace to trust God as they did, with humble hearts and steadfast faith.

May we be a people who truly rejoice in the light and hope that Christmas brings. May that divine light penetrate our hearts and shine through our lives. We are called to be the light of Christ for one another and for the world, bringing hope and peace where it is most needed.

On behalf of the parish administration, Fr. Predheep and I extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your faith, your prayers, and your continued support of our parish community throughout the past year. Your commitment and love for our parish are a true blessing and a sign of God’s grace at work among us. We pray that you and your families have a truly Blessed Christmas and a grace-filled New Year. Please know that you and your loved ones will all be remembered in our Christmas Masses.

May the newborn Christ fill your homes with peace, your hearts with joy, and your lives with His everlasting light.

God bless you always, and Merry Christmas!
